Chili Fly-in 2011 January 1st at Agate Field in Medford, Oregon

The first event of the year went off with the full cooperation of Mother Nature! We had 16 flyers show up as well as no wind and very blue skies. If you are a student of weather in Southern Oregon in January, you are probably aware that we were graced with a very unusual day.

Corey Myers had the honor of being "First Up" for 2011 and expertly fly the wings off of his airplane much to the appreciation of the early birds who were all vying for the honor.

Of course, a Chili Fly-in pretty much has to have "CHILI" as part of the day's festivities and Debbie Starks saw to it that we all had our fill of delicious chili with dogs!

What better way to start the New Year than to take up a bird on its maiden flight? Rob Skinner did just that with his BEAUTIFUL Dynaflite Butterfly. This is Rob's first construction project and it looks like he is definitely hooked... especially since it flew so well!
