The smoke from the persistent forest fires was washed away overnight to reveal very blue skies and fleecy white clouds to open this year's best ever Airshow! Best weather, best crowds, best raffle, best participation from club members and best of all very few 'mishaps'! These are the pilots and some of the staff who make the whole thing 'go'.

  • O yes, Best CD ever! CD stands for Contest Director and even though the Airshow is not a contest in any sense of the word, one person has to literally spend months getting hundreds of important pieces together to make the whole fun, safe and entertaining. That guy is our own Larry Myers who along with his wife Patti devoted long months of hard work to make this event the premier gathering of Rogue Eagles for the year. Thank-You , Larry and Patti.

  • The Rogue Eagles RC Club is the biggest in Oregon and our club put on a spectacular 23 act show that kept the overflow crowd cheering and on the edge of their seats waiting for more. One thing the crowd does not see is the preparation the pilots go through to make sure their 'birds' are ready to go as well as a very serious pilot's meeting to make sure everyone is on the same page for safety's sake.

  • While Larry Myers and Patti are behind the scenes our illustrious past President Jay Strickland emceed the acts and kept the action going and the audience entertained with his "all things airplanes" knowledge. The man should be in show business.

Opening Ceremonies

The majority of the following pictures were taken by Pat Dunlap.
We thank him for graciously sharing his time and talent with us.

Finally! The moment that 75 kids had been waiting for... THE Candy Drop!

Up close and personal!

After the show, audience members were invited to come out of the stands and view the airplanes up close and ask their pilots questions. This year the audience fairly erupted out of the stands with a real desire to see these goofy men and their flying machines.

Finally not pictured here but a big reason so many people enjoyed the show... Mr. Larry Cogdell who is our public relations guru. Our show made it to the local TV stations, radio, front page of the Tempo, the Mall and probably even more places. Larry's avowed goal was to double our club's contribution to the Childrens Miracle Network where 100% of the gate is donated. Thanks to Larry's selfless dedication we might just make that goal.

Thanks to all who made this the best show ever and thanks to the public who supported us. Till next time!
